Preparing for and preventing workplace violence

Preparing for workplace violence is a scenario more and more organizations are beginning to consider. In light of this, the public accounting firm Gilmore Jasion Mahler held two roundtables discussions in February and brought in experts on law enforcement, insurance and mental health to discuss the topic. We spoke to Wesley Beham, CPA, partner at GJM to learn more about why this is important to offer financial executives and how companies should prepare. Also in the episode is roundtable speaker Ellyn Schmiesing, the executive director at FOCUS: Recovery & Wellness Center, who explained how to best prevent workplace violence and open up conversations about mental health at work.
